Susan Goldin-Meadow

Susan Goldin-Meadow (born August 17, 1949) is Beardsley Ruml Distinguished Service Professor of Psychology at the University of Chicago. She is a pioneer and internationally renowned expert on the cognitive bases of gesture and sign language, and she is also interested in the educational applications of this research. Goldin-Meadow received a B.A. from Smith College in 1971 and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975, and subsequently accepted a position at the University of Chicago, where she has remained since.
